This is an incredible opportunity for anyone that desires to live and promote a sustainable lifestyle utilizing agroecology principles to help protect, restore and improve agricultural systems in the face of climate changes and environmental stresses. Nature provides all that we need to live: air, water, soil, plants, animals, and minerals. Our responsibility is to utilize these resources wisely and respectfully without damaging them. To that end, Tierra De Sabor, in the Rio Muchacho community near Canoa on Ecuador’s northern coast, is an agroecological farm with a view toward agro-tourism, promoting the synergy between man and nature and the relationship between agriculture production system and ecological processes. Tierra De Sabor is 5.5 hectares (55,000 square meters) of lush, fertile land with over 150 plant varieties between native and planted. There are over 120 plants inventoried with technical files. There is a 30 meter deep well and optimal irrigation system in place. Water sowing has been implemented, with the next harvest in 7 years. There is a beekeeping area with four hives in production and capacity for six more, and enough flora for foraging bees. There is already a cocoa or coffee dryer in place, and a natural wall of 5,000 ornamental lemon plants, pruned and in formation. There is already a two-bedroom, one bathroom house for family, as well as a family garden, a chicken coop with a flock of chickens, and access to the river.
